ANNOUNCEMENT 9-21-09: Thank you so much for making the 2009 Fest one of the best ever. As soon as we've had a chance to catch our breath, we'll be posting the winners list, neat photos (best Flaming Garlic Bulb and bonfire ever), and transcript of the annual "State of the Garlic" speech and thank yous. Hey...let's do it again next year!
The Festival is an annual celebration of garlic, friends, food, and music held in Crawford County, Pennsylvania. Garlic Festivarians are treated to a barrage of garlicky goodness consisting of some of the finest entertainment and most creative culinary delights this side of Heaven. If you weren't here last year, you need to experience the friendship and honest vibes that the Pears Garlic Fest can create in YOUR life!
The Garlic Festival is coming back home!
The Inner Circle of Garlic is excited to announce that this year's Festival will still be held on Saturday, September 19, 2009, but the venue will be changing. Yes, we're bringing it back to where it all began, where the ball started rolling, the place where the Festival was set forth from the bosom of Mother Nature...THE JASON & BECKY PEARS FARMSTEAD!
Announcing the opening band for the evening musical entertainment, please welcome...."The Barbarians" !!!!
The Barbarians are an acoustic trio that hail from all over Northwestern PA. They feature two guitars, a mandolin, and three part vocal harmonies. They play covers of the Grateful Dead, bluegrass favorites, and several original tunes. Their sweet tunes will warm up the crowd for our headliners this year.
Of course the evening headliner "Ron Yarosz and The Vehicle" !!!!
It's an honor to have Ron Yarosz and the fine musicians that comprise The Vehicle bring their blues and rock & roll stylings back to headline the 2009 Pears Garlic Fest! If you were at last year's fest, you know that this band is everything it's cracked up to be and more. We're not sure how it's possible, but they get better everytime that we're lucky enough to see them perform.
Tickets are onsale up to, and including, the day of the Festival. Be sure to order soon, so WE can see YOU!
We had such success with last year's Fest that this year we're fine tuning the experience and introducing a few new novelties. We're asking everyone to donate a relatively meager, nominal fee to cover costs this year.
2009 Donations are: Individual Tickets will be $12 per ticket, and Family Tickets will be $25 per ticket.
Hey we know times are tough, but before you say "Wait a minute! That's an increase over last year!" you'll be happy to know you're making a wise investment! So what will you experience for the entrance donation?
Succulent garlic influenced foods and beverages. You won't go hungry or thirsty!
Entertainment to beat the band (make that TWO bands!)
As always, games, prizes, and the coveted award "King or Queen of Garlic" !
Overnight camping included, with the option of Friday night camping too!
